A Note From the Pastor...

I can honestly speak in behalf of the congregation of Vidalia Old Line Primitive Baptist Church when I extend to you a warm invitation to come and worship the Lord with us. It gives me great pleasure to pastor such a welcoming and loving group of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. We desire earnestly for you to come and experience the joys of grace!

The Apostle Paul wrote of the inspiration of the Spirit in Hebrews 13:15, “By him (Jesus) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” I have seen this to be the spirit of the folks at Vidalia Old Line.

We realize the Bible teaches very plainly that if any are able and willing to render acceptable praise unto God, it must be “by him”. I trust we also realize our state as sinners in nature, but rejoice with “joy unspeakable and full of glory” that Jesus came to save sinners!

We strongly believe in good works! However, we hold to the truth of God’s word that good, righteous works spring from an eternally redeemed, secure state and are not the means of acquiring eternal salvation. Otherwise, we would have much to boast about and acclaim for ourselves.

The desire of Vidalia Old Line Primitive Baptist Church is not to take credit for our eternal salvation in Christ Jesus, but to rightly “give credit where credit is due”. All the glory goes to the Triune God who loves us, chose us, saved us from eternal torment, regenerated us, and ordained for us to perform those aforementioned good works! Verily, life comes before action!

Vidalia Old Line Primitive Baptist Church believes in simplicity in Christ. We also believe in the beauties of simple worship as taught in the New Testament. Primitive (means “original”) Baptists love a cappella singing of hymns, the preaching of the glorious gospel, prayer, fellowship, and the simple ordinances of baptism and the communion. What a thrill to the soul to worship like Jesus and the disciples of old! You won’t be burdened with various worldly entertainments and inventions trying to pass as worship!

Come worship with us and fully experience what was written to young Timothy, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
